Habitat For Humanity’s STOPWATCH CINEMA CONTEST
HOUSTON, TX – September 13-19, 2002
Who’s Invited?
Writers, actors/actresses, music producers, camera people, everyone from local video amateurs to professional movie producers.
What is Stopwatch Cinema?
Local producers will have 3 nights and 2 days to create their best 5-12 minute short movie. These movies will be all original no previous footage or material allowed. Only the gathering of crew and cast are allowed to take place before the competition begins.
What are the benefits?
All completed movies will be shown at the Meyerland Plaza theatre the week following the competition. The movies will be voted on by the audience and celebrity judges. An awards ceremony then follows the screenings with prizes that include trophies, awards, recognition in other cities, and the winning movies will be shown in theatres across the country. The winners go on to compete in the national competition in Atlanta, Georgia. Coverage of the entire event and the majority of completed movies will be put together in a presentation available on DVD.
